I don't think karma likes me very much...
So my mama posted on Facebook yesterday that it snowed and "thus begins my love-hate relationship with winter." (I thought that was hilarious.) So I thought that was full of irony because it hasn't really snowed here yet (it's snowed in the mountains and once earlier this month, but it wasn't bad and didn't even last that day).
And lo and behold I wake up this morning, look out my window and see that it is snowing.. heavily.. but not the kind that sticks, just the kind that makes everything cold and wet.
Guys.... IT'S OCTOBER!
On the plus side this gives me an excuse for listening to Christmas music... right?

Abstract Art
This is the painting that I painted. CC is an artist and she was like, "You should paint." And I was all, "I don't paint." Because I don't paint. Nobody in my family is artistic. But she got me to paint anyway and I LOVE IT!! Painting is such a stress-reliever. Seriously. That and then choir right after.
Wonderful.

PS~ Fish Scarf
CC made a fish skirt and with the leftover fabric made me a fish scarf. Want to see it? I knew you would.
FISH SCARF!!
Making Things With My Bare Hands
So technically I'm not making anything, CC's mom is doing all the work, but still.
Oh, backtracking a bit... We're sewing skirts! CC's mom is really awesome and talented. At sewing. And a plethora of other stuff. A plethora. So now I have a black and white striped maxi skirt, a pink and white striped knee-length fun skirt, and even a colorful Aztec-y maxi skirt for Sarah Bear for Christmas! Yay for making things with your bare hands!
Just in case you don't realize that this is a big deal, THIS IS A BIG DEAL.
I don't sew. Neither does my mama (not a lot, anyway). So hand made stuff, particularly clothing, is a wonderful treasure.
Guess what I just realized. I'm using CC's computer, which means I can easily take pictures of the skirts and show you instead of doing a poor job describing them!

Cleo
Why am I awake at 1:03 am?
So fun fact: I'm in Celtic dance this semester. AND I LOVE IT. That class is so chill. But seriously, I love dance. I think it's possibly the best thing since before the invention of the bagel. As in, way before. I did ballet, tap, and jazz for about twelve years. My favorite was definitely jazz. Confession time - my brother, Ryanpants, does (eastern) swing dance and he would practice with me, so I like to say that I also did a little bit of swing. Is that cheating?
Anyway, I love dance. CC teaches Celtic dance to little kids and I'm so jealous! I really want to teach a dance class, but the thing is I don't think I'm good enough for that... which is sad because I was in dance for twelve years...
In other news, CC and I bought more fish! So she brought Leo and Jasmine (who sadly passed away) with her to college. The other day we were in town and we stopped at Petmart and bought two of the little baby 15 cent goldfish! So now we have three. CC named her fish Wilburt Sue Wilbur and I named mine Cleopatra, Cleo for short. The thing is, they totally match our personalities. For example, when we went to the store, all the little fishies were swimming in one big tank. CC picked her fish first and he was swimming around like crazy and it took a while to catch him. CC is way fun and spontaneous and crazy. Just like Wilburt. It's great! Cleo on the other hand was fairly easy to catch. She's like me, more calm and probably not as fun, but still having a grand time. I get the feeling that if she weren't a fish, she would like to read.
Plus, I think Cleo and Wilburt are really good friends, which is good since they're tank-mates.

I'm Taking the Stairs From Now On
So this was a fun weekend.
I'm just going to copy a part of the email I sent to my sister and so if it doesn't really make sense, that's my bad, but today's been way too long for me to care enough to edit it.
"And now about my crazy and ridiculous weekend!! You have no idea.
Prepare yourself. So obviously conference was amazing (Bednar and
Holland and Uchtdorf and President Monson and basically the entire
morning session today and others that I'm forgetting, holy crap!), but
seriously this weekend has just been an emotional roller coaster. So
I'm on this spiritual high, but along with that 1) I didn't get to go
to SLC to watch conference in the conference center like I thought I
would. Clara, Michael, and Christine were going to come up and stay in
Logan Friday night and then we were all going to go down to watch it,
but Michael's mission reunion wasn't as close to Logan as they
originally thought, so it would have been too much out of the way. 2)
Like I said earlier, we lost the football game. It was
super depressing. And I'm even a fan of them (albeit less and less now,
I feel the blue running through my veins, I love it here so
much!). But Friday was my friend Bailey's birthday and she absolutely
hates that team and she loves football and so that wasn't fun for her. 3)
Saturday I locked myself out of my room. And CC was with her
sister for the weekend. I mean, I got back in just fine and fast and I
had a free lockout, so I didn't have to pay, but it's the principle of
the thing! And now for the grand finale 4) I GOT TRAPPED IN AN
ELEVATOR TODAY!!!! I bet you didn't prepare yourself for that.
Story time. So I went to the first session of conference at the church
building, but my friend Alex wanted to watch part
of conference to see what it was like and stuff, so I was really
excited and we were planning on watching the second session in the
basement of our dorms. The thing is, one of the two elevators in the
dorm has been broken for a little while and so we're standing there
waiting for it and the broken one dings and out comes Asian flower guy
(we've never seen him before, but he was Asian and had flowers), so
we're thinking that's cool, they fixed the elevator, right? WRONG.
You'd think that if Asian flower guy can go from the first floor to
the sixth floor we could go down more than half a floor, but no! It
stopped and wouldn't move! And, even better, the elevator phone
doesn't work! It was really freaky!! And it went down a little bit,
but then stopped again. So I called my friend Emilee who had gone to
the church building again and she and my other friend Kam drove back
and she went to the office, but nobody's in there until five on Sundays
which is dumb because you never know when somebody's going to get
stuck in an elevator! So she looked up the number for the RA on call and
told them we were stuck in there and they called the campus police and
maintenance and it was crazy! I was saying like a million prayers in my
head! And then the elevator maintenance guy got there and he was tinkering
around and told us he had to go on top of the cart and that was probably
the scariest part because from inside it sounded like he was pounding
around and we just wanted to tell him to please step lightly and gently
as we didn't feel like plunging down to our death. I'm sure he was
being extremely careful and we probably should have had more faith
in the strength of the cable thing holding the elevator up, but still! So the guy
eventually opens up a hatch thing in the ceiling and lowers a ladder
down and we had to climb up and get on top of the elevator car and
then go through the doors and out of the elevator shaft!! We were in
there for about an hour and fifteen minutes! It was seriously like a
movie. Totally insane!! And after we got out we both just wanted to
collapse on our beds. She ended up not watching conference with me
(which wasn't online yet anyway, so I haven't seen the evening session
yet) and just took a much needed nap, but still that really sucked. I
was talking to another friend about it later and we were all "This
round goes to you, Satan, but sucks to suck, we have plenty more
conferences for Alex to watch!" I was really shaky by the time I got
to my room and I called Mama and that was good and I asked Kam to give
me a blessing, just because I was still pretty shaken up, so I feel
loads better now. I'm just exhausted from such an up and down weekend!
I still can't believe that happened, though! It was ridiculous.
And there's really nothing else to say once you've told a story about
getting stuck in an elevator."
Oh wait! I know how to make this weekend even better! I just got written up for breaking the quiet hour rules when we weren't even being loud (and that's not me being biased, Daphne and her friend were studying in the study room literally ten steps from where I'm sitting and they said they couldn't hear us at all). Perfect!

How Many Times Can I Say Doppelganger in One Post?
Story time!
I love the word "doppelganger." It's wonderful. Also, I love the idea of a doppelganger. I want a doppelganger...
Back to the story. I saw a doppelganger! Now, friends, you have to understand. It's not just anyone's doppelganger. No, no. It was David Tennant's doppelganger.
So pause! Click on the link to Bri's blog and read that story first.
Did you do it?
Good, back to the present story.
So I'm walking to my Intro to Religious Studies class and it's cold, so I'm hurrying along and who do I see? DOPPELGANGER DAVID TENNANT!
It was pretty great.
But wait, there's more!
So I go to class and afterward I walk back to the dorms and meet up with CC for some lunch at the Junction. And who do I see? Can you see where I'm going with this? It was DOPPELGANGER DAVID!
Just as a side note, I would love nothing more than to see my doppelganger. Keep your eyes out for a Jess Jess-like doppelganger.
So yeah, that and the big football game tonight and Conference in the Conference Center with friends I haven't seen in ages... It's going to be a good weekend.
PS~ I can say doppelganger 13 times in one post.

Dreams Lie to Us
I had a dream that I did my psychology paper wrong (the one I did in an hour) and I woke up at eight freaking out about it, only to check canvas and realize that I did indeed do it right.
I also had a dream that I got my religion test score back, but alas I did not.
